Dillingen (also: Dillingen an der Saar) is a town in the district of Saarlouis, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the river Saar, approx. 5 km northwest of Saarlouis, and 25 km northwest of Saarbrücken. The Dillinger Hütte steelworks is located here.
Transport
Dillingen (Saar) station is on the Saar Railway, which connects Saarbrücken Central Station and Trier Central Station.
Iron ore comes to the steelworks by Germany's heaviest trains 6000T trains.
