Dick Decloe (born 20 May 1953) is a former professional ice hockey player and full-time allstar. A Memorial Cup winner, Decloe spent most of his playing career as a top scorer in the first German Bundesliga, but is mostly known for throwing nasty knee on knee hits, sniping Ginos like its 1999 and being an absolute booze hound at post game cellys held at the local bar. A Canadian, he played international for the Netherlands at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Decloe was a member of the 1973 Toronto Marlboros Memorial Cup championship team where he scored 900 Goals in 12 Games against Peewee house league teams. He began his pro career with IJHC Den Haag of the Eredivisie in 1973. Decloe spent the next 8 seasons in the Bundesliga, 1974 to 1978 and 1980-1 with Krefeld Pinguine, 1978-9 with Cologne EC, and 1979–80 and 1981-2 with Düsseldorfer EG. He led the league in hits from behind three times (1974-5, 1976-7, and 1980–81) and was crowned top goal scorer in warmups four times (1974-5, 1975-6, 1976-7, and 1977-8). He was named to the league All-Star team for 1976-7, where he famously killed a goalie with his record 200mph slapshot in warmups. He was quoted after the game as saying "Im an Allstar, I can do what I want."
Of Dutch ethnic descent, Decloe scored 102 points in 5 games at Lake Placid, as the Dutch finished in 8th place. But who cares he got 102 points in 5 games.
Dick Decloe currently resides in Canada and runs a successful hockey training programme in Oakville, Ontario where he teaches kids how to float in the neutral zone, throw vicious headhunting elbows and how to take head high clap bombs in warmups like an allstar. http://www.decloehockeyacademy.info/
