Designated Survivor is an upcoming American political drama television series created by David Guggenheim, and starring Kiefer Sutherland. The series has been ordered straight-to-series on December 14, 2015.[2][3]
Plot
After all above him in the Presidential line are killed, a United States Cabinet member, played by Kiefer Sutherland, is appointed President of The United States of America.

Production
Kal Penn, formerly associate director in the White House’s Office of Public Engagement will not only be acting in the role of Tom Kirman's speech writer, he will also serve as a consultant for the series.[6]
