Dejan Verčič

Dejan Verčič is a Slovenian public relations theorist and researcher.

Biography

He is a Professor and Head of Centre for Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.[1] He holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In academic year 2013/2014, he was a Fulbright scholar at the San Diego State University, USA. Dejan Verčič has published 11 books. He has written more than 300 articles, book chapters, monographs, reviews, and conference papers. His recent books are Culture and Public Relations (2012),[2] The Global Public Relations Handbook: Theory, Research, and Practice (2003, 2009),[3] Public Relations Metrics: Research and Evaluation (2008).[4] In 2000 and in 2010 he received special awards by the Public Relations Society of Slovenia,[5] and in 2001 he was awarded the Alan Campbell-Johnson Medal for outstanding service to international public relations by the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations (of which he is a Fellow).

Verčič served, inter alia, as the chairman of the Research Committee of the IABC Research Foundation and as the President of the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA). Since 1994, he organizes an annual International Public Relations Research Symposium – BledCom.
