Debra Eisenstadt
Debra Eisenstadt is an American director, writer, producer, actress, and creative consultant. Eisenstadt wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited her first feature film Daydream Believer- winner of the Independent Spirit Award "Someone To Watch" and The Grand Jury Prize at The Slamdance Film Festival. She co-wrote, produced, directed and edited The Limbo Room, an award winning feature, starring Melissa Leo and featuring Peter Dinklage. Eisenstadt was an executive producer for the documentary Kurt Cobain; Montage of Heck. As an actress Eisenstadt worked in theater, film and television, most notably starring in the theater & film versions of David Mamet's controversial Oleanna, opposite William H. Macy. She was also in the Broadway and National Tour of Wendy Wasserstein's Tony award winning play The Sister's Rosensweig and the Golden Globe & Emmy winning film version of Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize winning play The Heidi Chronicles.
Personal life
Eisenstadt is married to director Brett Morgen. She graduated from Bennington College in 1991 and received a Masters degree in Film/Media Studies from New School University in 2000.
