David Mitchell (born 4 April 1990) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Scottish Premiership side Dundee. Mitchell has previously played for Ayr United and Stranraer.

Career

Stranraer

Mitchell decided that to achieve his ambition of first team football and to progress he would have to leave Ayr , Stranraer signed the young 'keeper as their number one in their Scottish League Two campaign. Mitchell was part of the clubs successful promotion campaign in 2012 when, as finishing runner up in the play-offs, Stranraer were promoted to the Scottish League One due to the demise of Rangers.

In his sixth season as number one 'keeper at Stranraer, Scottish Championship side Hibernian expressed interest.[1] Stranraer would go on to narrowly miss out on automatic promotion to the Scottish Championship and lose a play off match against Forfar to end their promotion hopes.

Dundee

Dundee signed Mitchell on a pre-contract in June 2015.[2]
