David Crawshay is an Australian Olympic gold-medal winning and national champion rower from Victoria. He has represented for Australia in rowing at three consecutive Olympic games.

Rowing career

Born 11 August 1979 in Carlton, Crawshay attended Melbourne Grammar School. His senior rowing has been with the Mercantile Rowing Club based on the Yarra River in Melbourne.

Crawshay is a three-time Australian national sculling champion, winning gold in Victorian colours in the President's Cup race at the Interstate Regatta at the Australian Rowing Championships on three occasions, in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Crawshay's first Australian Olympic selection was for the Athens 2004 when he rowed in the Australian quad scull who won their B final.[1] With his teammate Scott Brennan, Crawshay won the gold medal in the men's double sculls at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.[2] Brennan and Crawshay teamed up again for London 2012.[3] They finished in second place in the B final for an overall eighth place in the 2012 Olympic rankings.
