David C. Robinson

David C. Robinson is an American film producer. He is vice president at Morgan Creek Productions, a Los Angeles-based movie studio founded and owned by his father, James G. Robinson, who serves as chairman and CEO.

Life and career

Robinson's parents, James and Barbara, live in Baltimore, Maryland. Robinson graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. He first worked at Morgan Creek as a producer, then as an executive producer before being appointed vice president. The company's movies include Major League and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Robinson is married to actress/model Susan Ward, whom he met in spring 1999 at her audition for the lead role of the seductive, bisexual murderess Brittany in the erotic thriller movie The in Crowd. He cast her in the role (her first movie appearance), and the two started a relationship during shooting on location in Charleston, South Carolina. Ward later told Controversy magazine it had been "love at first sight."

Their partnership caused some controversy when Robinson was reported to have ordered several changes to be made to the movie before its theatrical release in July 2000. The studio countered by saying the cuts were made so the movie could obtain a potentially more profitable PG13 rating. This is probable as several cuts for violence were also made (most notably a bloody murder scene). The original uncut version was later released on an unrated DVD in Europe.

David Robinson and Susan Ward married on June 4, 2005, at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California.[1] Dr. D.H. Clark, a friend of the bride, performed the ceremony.[2] In early 2013, Susan and David were expecting their first child together. In August 2013, the child was born. .[3]
