Daniel Adel
Daniel Q. Adel (born 1962) is an American painter and illustrator. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in Art History. He continued his studies in New York City with Harvey Dinnerstein, Ron Sherr and Burton Silverman at the National Academy of Design and at Hunter College.[1] He now lives in Provence, France with his wife and son.
In 1994, he illustrated Jon Scieszka's children's book The Book that Jack Wrote. Adel painted the cover portrait of George W. Bush for Time Magazine, when the president was selected as "Person of the Year" in 2004.[2] His "fine art" paintings tend towards the surreal. Arion, from 2011, is an example of one of a series of paintings of white cloth against a black background.
