DESI-III is a freeware 2D CAD program running under the DOS operating system. It was written during 1980 - 2001 by Hugo Mariën. It has features needed for making two-dimensional technical drawings. The user interface is based on menus, and is translated into English, Dutch, French, German and Ukrainian.

When development was started, the program was called DESI (Drafting made Easy Software Implementation) and it ran on a HP1000 computer. Later versions ran also on DEC PRO-350 under the RSX-11 operating system. The program was eventually ported to DOS, when EGA graphics adapters started to become common. In the early 1990s, development was continued and the program, now called DESI-III was released as freeware . The latest release is version 8.0.2. This version runs also on tablets with DOSBox Turbo installed. It uses therefore an included full compatible pop up keyboard which offers also advantages for the installation on PC.
