The singles discography of Crystal Gayle, an American country artist, consists of sixty-one singles, fourteen music videos, three other charted songs, and nine other album appearances. Upon graduating high school, Gayle signed with Decca Records and released her debut single "I've Cried the Blue Right Out of My Eyes" in 1970. In 1974, she signed with United Artists Records and focused on a more country pop production, which was showcased through her first single for the label entitled "Wrong Road Again".^[1] The single became Gayle's first record to reach the top ten on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.^[2] From her second album, Gayle had first number one single with "I'll Get Over You", followed by her second later in the year called "You Never Miss a Real Good Thing (Till He Says Goodbye)".^[1] In mid-1977 Gayle released the most successful single of her career, the jazz-influenced ballad, "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". The song not only became her third number one single on the Billboard country chart, but also reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gained major international radio airplay. It won Gayle the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1978^[3] and nominated the song for the Academy of Country Music Awards' "Single of the Year" award. With her next single her label issued a song from her 1976 album named "Ready for the Times to Get Better", which became her fourth number one country single.^[1] After its release in 1978, When I Dream spawned her second major country pop crossover single, "Talking in Your Sleep"^[4] and her fifth number one single, "Why Have You Left the One You Left Me For".^[3]

After releasing three more top ten singles, Gayle switched to Columbia Records and released her first single for the label, "Half the Way, in 1979. The song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and peaked in the top twenty on the Billboard Hot 100.^[3] From the album it was released from, Miss the Mississippi, the song "It's Like We Never Said Goodbye" reached number one and "The Blue Side" became a country top ten hit, while also becoming a minor pop hit. From her next two albums (These Days and Hollywood, Tennessee) the singles "If You Ever Change Your Mind", "The Woman in Me", and "Livin' in These Troubled Times" became major hits on Billboard's country chart.^[4] In 1982 her duet recording with Eddie Rabbitt entitled "You and I" became another country pop crossover hit.^[1] The same year Gayle had three number one Billboard country hits from the album True Love: "Baby What About You", "'Til I Gain Control Again", and "Our Love Is on the Faultline". After moving to Warner Bros. Records in 1983, she had two additional number singles from her album Cage the Songbird.^[3] These singles among her previous under Columbia Records made significant chart peaks on the adult contemporary chart as well.^[1] In 1985 Gayle collaborated with Gary Morris on the single, "Makin' Up for Lost Time", which served as the theme song for the popular television series Dallas and led to two more collaborative singles with Morris.^[4]

From Gayle's next studio album, Straight to the Heart (1986), "Cry" and the title track became her final singles to reach the number one position on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.^[5] Although switching to Capitol Records in 1990, her singles from her debut album on the label were not successful.^[3][5] During the rest of the decade, Gayle only occasionally released singles from her albums. In 2010, Gayle released a song with American Idol finalist Mishavonna entitled "Christmas Everywhere", her sixth duet single.^[6]
