Craig Payne
Craig Payne (born May 22, 1961) is an American former boxer best known for winning the National Golden Gloves in 1983.
Amateur
Payne, a 1979 graduate of Chillicothe (Ohio) High School, won the National Golden Gloves in 1983 beating a young Mike Tyson.[1] Payne also defeated Cuban boxing legends Teofilo Stevenson and Félix Savón.
Pro
After his first fight in 1985 he paused for a couple of years before returning in 1991. Payne's pro career was disappointing largely because he was completely out of shape often coming in at 300 lbs. His only notable success was a KO of previously undefeated Samson Po'uha.
