Craig Garvey (born 28 April 1993) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the National Rugby League. He plays at hooker and previously played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons.

Background

Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Garvey played his junior rugby league for the Earlwood Saints, before being signed by the St. George Illawarra Dragons.

Playing career

Early career

In 2012 and 2013, Garvey played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons' NYC team.[1][2]

2013

In 2013, Garvey captained the Dragons' NYC side.[3][4] On 20 April, he played for the New South Wales under-20s team against the Queensland under-20s team.[5] On 1 May, he re-signed with the Dragons on a 2-year contract.[3][6] In Round 17 of the 2013 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Dragons against the Sydney Roosters.[7][8]

2014

On 28 February, Garvey was stood down by the Dragons, later being found to have been guilty to assaulting a man.[9][10] On 16 December, after consultation and approval from the NRL, the Dragons reinstated him into the full-time first-grade squad.[11]

2015

On 3 November, Garvey signed a 2-year contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs starting in 2016.[12]
