Coyle Girelli is an English singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist and lead singer of alternative rock band The Chevin.[1]

Music career

Girelli, along with Mat Steel, Jon Langford, Mal Taylor and Mark Heaton, formed alternative rock band Your Vegas in 2005 while a studying at Leeds University. He was the singer[2][3] and songwriter in Your Vegas.[4] The band released several self-produced singles in the UK before releasing debut album A Town And Two Cities[5] in May 2008 on Universal Republic.[6]

In 2010 he founded British alternative band The Chevin together with former Your Vegas bandmates Langford, Steel and Taylor.[7] Lead single "Champion" along with several other of his songs from album Borderland have appeared in films, trailers, commercials, computer games and television shows across the globe, most notably "Champion" on the FIFA 13 soundtrack.[8]

Girelli has made several network television appearances in the US including on Last Call with Carson Daly with Your Vegas[9] and on the Late Show with David Letterman[10] and Conan with The Chevin.

Steven Spielberg's Discovery Channel documentary Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attack in New York used used "Salvador" written by Girelli as its theme music.[11]

Girelli has written songs for many other recording artists including Westlife,[12] Asher Roth,[13] Alex Winston, Peking Duk and DJ Serge Devant.[14]

He co-composed the music for the 2013 French musical sensation Robin des Bois along with Micheal Malih, David Hallyday, Fred Château, Mathieu Mendès, Corneille, Shaka Ponk, John Mamann and Stanislas.[15] His song "Gloria" from the show is on opera singer Vincent Niclo's 2013 album Luis.
