Personal life

Tidwell was born in 1972 in Nashville, Tennessee to country singer Connie Eaton and Cliff Williamson, music producer at A & R . Her grandfather Slim Williamson ran Chart Records. Most of her family played at or was associated with The Grand Ole Opry. Her mother was diagnosed with manic depression and Cortney's music ambition was derailed. Cortney's musical genes emerged again after the death of her mother many years later. She went to McGavock High School in Nashville. She attended two years of college before she dropped out to pursue art. She is married to Todd Tidwell, who is Cortney's right hand in the production of her music. To date, they have two children and live in Nashville.
