History and profile
Corriere Adriatico was established in 1860.[1][2] The paper is among the newspapers published in the Marche region.[3] Specifically, it is based in Ancona.[4][5] During the Fascist rule in Italy Corriere Adriatico was controlled by the National Fascist Party (FNP).[6]
Since 2004 the owner has been the Caltagirone Editore Group which also owns Il Mattino and Il Messaggero, among the others.[7][8] The publisher of Corriere Adriatico is a company with the same name.[9]
Corriere Adriatico launched a color version in 2006.[1] There are five editions of the paper,[9] which are distributed in Ancona, Pesaro, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno and Fermo.[1] It has also the online and digital versions.[1]
The paper includes sections of news, sport, regular columns and promotional initiatives.[2]
On its 150th anniversary of the establishment a commemorative stamp was published by the post of Italy.[4]
Corriere Adriatico had a circulation of 19,400 copies in 2007.[10][11]
