Coosa High School is one of four public county high schools serving grades 9-12 near the city of Rome, in Floyd County, Georgia, United States. Coosa serves the areas of Garden Lakes, Cave Spring, Alto Park, and Coosa Valley. The mascot is the bald eagle. The school colors are white and black, although red is sometimes used instead of white. The current principal is Trevor Hubbard.
Athletics
Eagles athletic teams include football, basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, track & field, wrestling, softball, cross country, cheerleading, volleyball, swimming & diving, and bowling.
Academics
The school has literary and academic teams. The Academic Decathlon team has won 21 of the last 25 Floyd County championships. The Academic team also continues to compete in the High Q competition. They have won two of the last four High Q matches.
The Eagles have won the Governor's Cup for the most improved SAT scores in the state and region. Coosa has also been named a Georgia School of Excellence. In 2010, Coosa had the highest SAT scores in Floyd County and the third highest scores in the state.
Clubs
Clubs include FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), FBLA-PBL, Academic Decathlon, Weird Science Club, Technology Student Association, Student Council, Optimist Club, and Jam Club.
