Conflict in Najran is an armed conflict between troops of Saudi Arabia and Houthi insurgents in the province Nadzhran of Saudi Arabia, and also rocket attacks on border territories of Nadzhran. The conflict began in response to the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen.
History
On 5 May 2015, after shelling by Houthis of neighborhood of the city of Najran, the authority of the country temporarily closed local educational institutions and the airport.
On June 19, the group of political activists — representatives of various tribes of the province Najran located in the south of Saudi Arabia on border with Yemen — created the military-political movement Akhrar an-Najhran Free citizens of Najran, the purpose of which is to fight for independence of Saudi Arabia. Najran's tribes which adjoined the new organization declared independence of the province and declared accession to the Yemen troops in fight against the Saudi authorities as Riyadh, according to their version, "broke all contracts signed earlier with tribes".
On 20 June, fighters of the Ahrar Najran movement seized Lookout Outpost in the south of the Kingdom. At the same time passed bloody collisions in the Saudi Borders.
