Collegiate Academy of Colorado
Collegiate Academy of Colorado is a small charter school located in the Ken Caryl area of unincorporated Jefferson County. It is a kindergarten through twelfth grade charter school with approximately 480 students (2009–10 enrollment). The school has a postal address of 8420 S. Sangre de Cristo Road, Littleton, CO 80127. It opened in 1994 and accepted all students. It has about 2 teachers for each grade up until the middle school portion where the teachers are divided by the subjects they teach. It has its own soccer field where it rents out for other uses. It has 1 gym and 1 cafeteria along with a 2-part playground. It hosts many events including a carnival at the end of every school year. Before it was called Collegiate Academy of Colorado, it was called Sci-Tech, which is basically what it focuses on- science and technology. Its mascot is a wolf, and the school colors are burgundy and hunter green.
It has a basic, L-shaped layout, with two floors. The building used to be a check factory, and they have added the cafeteria, gym, and field in the last 5 years.
The principal is Chris Becker, vice principal is Gus Johnson. The school attempted more of a business structure, with a CEO and 3 lower officers, including a Dean of Student Life. The school website is here: www.collegiateacademy.net
