Colchester by-election, 1961

The Colchester by-election was held on 16 March 1961. It was held due to the incumbent Conservative MP, Cuthbert Alport becoming British High Commissioner to Rhodesia and so getting a Life Peerage on appointment. The by-election was won by the Conservative candidate Antony Buck.
