History

Campden Media was founded in 1987 in London. The company was divided into two divisions: Campden Health, a pan-European healthcare publishing and events business, and Campden Wealth, an information provider serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Campden Wealth was sold in early 2013 and Campden Health subsequently repositioned itself as a media and marketing services firm and changed its name to Cogora.[1]

In October 2013 Cogora acquired PCM Healthcare, a medical education and communications agency. PCM Healthcare is structured into two separate divisions: PCM Scientific, its specialist CME and independent education business, has delivered some of the largest and most successful practice-enhancing education programmes in Europe over the last few years; and Pharmacom Media, its separate promotional medical communications team, produces medical communication strategies and tactical campaigns for its blue-chip pharmaceutical clients.

Cogora produces healthcare research reports such as the survey On the Line: Patient Access in Primary Care, which included a foreword from Dr. James Kingsland, President of the National Association of Primary Care.[8]

Pulse's survey on the lack of confidence held by GPs in their local community mental health services, was given exclusively to ITV News.[9] Their surveys often target key issues facing the healthcare community and NHS as an institution.[10]

In 2014, a campaign was launched by Pulse and supported by Management in Practice and Nursing in Practice to stop GP practices closures. GPs were asked to sign a petition to pledge their support. Recommending practices be provided with emergency funding, the campaign has been backed by organisations, including the Royal College of General Practitioners and the British Medical Association.[11]
