Cody Marshall Decker (born January 17, 1987) is an American professional baseball player who plays for the Kansas City Royals organization. He has played for the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Career
Decker attended Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica and UCLA, and was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 22nd round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.[1] In 2009, he was a Topps Short-Season Rookie All Star, Topps AZL Player of the Year, Topps Post-Season All Star, and AZL Most Valuable Player.[2] In 2010, he was an MiLB.com San Diego Organization All Star and MiLB.com Short-Season Best Hitter of the Year.[2] In 2012, he was twice Texas League Player of the Week.[2]
Decker made his Major League debut on September 14, 2015.
Decker signed with the Kansas City Royals of the American League on December 3, 2015.
