Coast Art Project
COAST is an ambitious British visual art project initiated by the Essex County Council. Starting in 2003 and continuing over three years, the project will generate a series of newly commissioned artworks along the Essex coastline. COAST aims to raise the cultural profile of the coastal area of Essex; develop a better understanding and appreciation of coastal landscapes; and promote tourism in Essex.
COAST in the Schools
COAST artists Rob Olins, Andrew Smith and Michael Pinsky are continuing to produce artworks integrated into the new buildings at Bishops Park College, Colbaynes School and Clacton County High School. Michael Pinsky's artwork 'Weather Cluster' consists of a series of flat screen monitors suspended from the ceiling of the school's dining hall, showing video sequences of weather across the world, which change according to the local weather conditions around the school.
