Cleve Hall
Cleveland "Cleve" Hall is a special effects artist, make-up artist, and actor who starred on the SyFy reality television series Monster Man.
Early life
Cleve Hall was born on June 22, 1959 and grew up in Florida next to a family cemetery. His mother regularly took him to see low-budget horror films. After seeing the film Godzilla vs. the Thing Cleve built a Godzilla costume that caught the attention of Six Flags, who hired him to build another costume.[1]
Career
Cleve started his own special effects company, Imagimation Productions, and worked on numerous commercials and theater. In the 1980s he moved to Hollywood and worked on many low-budget films, including Pee Wee's Big Adventure, in which he played Godzilla in a suit he had created himself.[1]
Although digital special effects became more popular in the 1990s, Cleve continued using physical based effects and received an Emmy nomination for his work on Yo Gabba Gabba. He also created props for bands such as KISS (for whom he created Gene Simmons' chest armor [2]), Insane Clown Posse, and Alice Cooper.
As an actor, Cleve has appeared in numerous films beginning in the mid 80's, most often portraying psychotic killers. In the 2011 film Black Dahlia Haunting Cleve played the killer of Elisabeth Short and won Best Killer Award for his performance at the 2013 Shockfest Film Festival. He has also played keyboards in Punk and Death Rock bands such as Mad Love while living in Florida, and Exquisite Corpse in Los Angeles in the 80's.
Cleve Hall starred in the SyFy reality television series Monster Man working with Sota F/X.[3] Notable clients as seen on Monster Man have been Sean S. Cunningham, Tony Randel, The Asylum, Devo, and Richard Elfman.[2]
Personal life
Cleve has three daughters; Constance, Elora, and Zoe. Constance and Elora are part of Cleve's special effects team and they co-starred with him on his reality show Monster Man along with his ex-wife Sonia Hall.[4] Zoe Stardust Hall was born in 2010.
Cleve currently resides in Los Angeles with his family.
