Cimarex Energy Co. is an American company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production, with operations mainly in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The company’s oil business is located in three areas: the Mid-Continent region, the Permian Basin and Gulf Coast. As of December 31, 2012, it’s estimated that the total of oil and gas reserves reached 2.3 trillion cubic feet equivalent.[4]
History
On February 14, 2002, the company was incorporated in Colorado.[4] In 2005, the company completed the acquisition of the Magnum Hunter Resources Inc. a Dallas based oil and gas company.[5]
