Ciao (ちゃお Chao) is a Japanese shōjo manga magazine published by Shogakukan for girls about 9–15 years old. The first issue was launched in 1977. As of 2009, the circulation was 815,455.[1] Formerly, the magazine attached paper crafts, but now attaches goods (cosmetics, watches, pencils, notebooks, etc.) that are different every month. The magazine's competitors are Ribon and Nakayoshi.
