Christine Mailliet (born January 9, 1987 in Luxembourg City) is a Luxembourgian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events.[1] She is a multiple-time Luxembourgish record holder in both long and short course freestyle (200 and 400 m) and butterfly (50, 100, and 200 m).[2]
Mailliet qualified for the women's 200 m freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by breaking a Luxembourgish record and clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:02.71 from the Open Luxembourg Nationals in Luxembourg City.[3] She challenged seven other swimmers on the second heat, including three-time Olympian Elina Partõka of Estonia. Mailliet raced to sixth place by 0.61 of a second behind Singapore's Lynette Lim in 2:02.91. Mailliet failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed thirty-ninth overall in the preliminary heats.[4]
