American entertainer Christina Aguilera has released five video albums and been featured in thirty-three music videos, five films, thirteen television programs, and seven commercials. Aguilera achieved early fame during 1993 and 1994 when she appeared in the Disney Channel television series The New Mickey Mouse Club, alongside singers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake and actor Ryan Gosling. In 1999, Aguilera rose to prominence with her self-titled debut album. Two years later, Aguilera appeared on the music video for "Lady Marmalade" with Mýa, Lil' Kim, and Pink, which earned two MTV Video Music Awards at the 2001 ceremony: Video of the Year and Best Video from a Film.[1] In 2002, Aguilera released "Dirrty" as the lead single from her fourth studio album Stripped; the video for which was criticized due to its depiction of sexual activities.[2] Meanwhile, the visual for the second single from Stripped, "Beautiful", received a GLAAD Media Award for its positive portrayal of the LGBT community.[3]

In 2004, Aguilera voiced a Rastafarian jellyfish in the film Shark Tale. She recorded "Car Wash" with Missy Elliott for the film's soundtrack, and its music video features Aguilera as the jellyfish.[4] Later that year, she made an appearance on Nelly's video "Tilt Ya Head Back", in which she portrayed Marilyn Monroe.[5] In 2006, Aguilera released her fifth studio album Back to Basics—three music videos for singles from the album were shot. Bryan Barber directed the music video for "Ain't No Other Man", in which Aguilera acted as her then newly established alter ego Baby Jane.[6] In November 2010, she starred in the musical Burlesque, in which she portrays Ali Rose, a dancer in a burlesque club.[7] The film received lukewarm critical reception and garnered over 89 million US$.[8] From 2011 and 2013, Aguilera appeared the music videos for "Moves like Jagger" (with Maroon 5),[9] "Your Body",[10] "Feel This Moment" (with Pitbull),[11] "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" (with Alejandro Fernández),[12] "Let There Be Love",[13] and "Say Something" (with A Great Big World).[14]
