Christian Welch (born 19 July 1994) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League. He plays at prop and second-row.
Background
Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Welch moved to Brisbane, Queensland at a young age and played his junior football for the Eastern Suburbs Tigers, before being signed by the Melbourne Storm.
Playing career
Early career
In 2013 and 2014, Welch played for the Melbourne Storm's NYC team.[1][2] On 3 May 2014, he played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[3]
2015
In 2015, Welch moved on to the Storm's Queensland Cup team, Eastern Suburbs Tigers, returning to his junior club.[4] In Round 9 of the 2015 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Storm against the Parramatta Eels.[5][6]
