The Chocó vireo (Vireo masteri) is a species of bird in the Vireonidae family. It is found in western Colombia and has recently been found in north-west Ecuador.[2] Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The species was not described until 1996.[3] The scientific name was decided by an auction to raise money for conservation of the bird's habitat. It was named Vireo masteri after the winner Dr Bernard Master.[4]
