The Chilean school uniform is used by the main part of the Chilean schools.

Until 1930, it was not very common that the schools obliged students to use uniform. During Carlos Ibáñez del Campo government, it was established that all educational centers had to oblige the students to use uniform.

During Eduardo Frei Montalva government, it was established a unified school uniform for all of the schools and other educational centers, public or private.

Currently, the traditional uniform has disappeared principally on private schools, that have preferred using a customized one. Also, some people discuss about its use on all of the schools.[1]
