Chennai 2 Singapore is an upcoming Tamil film written and directed by Abbas Akbar, featuring Sathya and Hebah Patel in the lead roles.[1] The film is produced by the Media Development Authority, Singapore and is the first collaboration between the Tamil and Singaporean film industries.[2][3]

Plot
The film’s story is said to be a romantic comedy about a struggling Indian filmmaker, Harish, who makes his way to Singapore to look for investors to finance his dream movie. A series of misfortunes foils his plans. However, with the help of Vaanambaadi, an eccentric Singaporean cameraman, Harish almost realises his dream. But then he meets a girl. And everything takes a twisted turn into a madcap journey about life, death and everything else.[4]
Production
The film's director Abbas Akbar secured a fund from the Media Development Authority in Singapore to make the film, while he also sold his house to raise funds.[5] The first schedule began in Chennai and was completed by September 2014.[6] The second schedule of the film began in October 2014 in Singapore and featured a combination of cast members from India and Singapore.[7][8]
In January 2016, Ghibran revealed that the team would take a road trip encompassing six countries to release the film's songs.[9]
Audio Launch
Music composer, Mohamaad Ghibran announced on his social media pages that the audio launch will be done through a road trip from Chennai to Singapore. Ghibran and director Abbas Akbar will be undertaking the cross-country trip from Chennai through Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. The film has six songs and they are planning to release a song every time they each a new country. The trip is expected to begin in February.[10]
Engaging his fans and friends through his social media pages, Ghibran asked for advice about the road trip. He has also sent a wish for Ajith Kumar, known for his road skills, to offer his advice.[11]
The music for the film was composed by Ghibran.[12]
