Charlestown, Ohio
Charlestown is an unincorporated community in Charlestown Township, Portage County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.[1]
History
A post office called Charlestown was established in 1820, and remained in operation until 1904.[2] Charlestown and Charlestown Township were named for Charles Curtiss, who donated a barrel of whisky toward the expense of building the township a church in exchange for the naming rights.[3]
