Chandrapur Municipality other names Chandranigahapur locally known as Chapur is a Municipality in Rautahat District in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging Chandranigahapur, Judibela, Paurai, Santpur Matioun, Dumariya Matioun Village development committee.[1][2]
At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 13,456 people living in 2465 individual households.
History
This town was actually named under the late Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shamsher. People started to live here after the naming of this place.
Development activities
In the remembrance of G.P. Koirala, the construction of Dabari Tourism Area cum Picnic Spot is going on. Cha.pur Hospital, Drinking water, Road Development, etc. are the development work going on in this town.
Sports
In this town many sports like volleyball, football and cricket is played. Rautahat Women Football team is the best women team over Nepal. Sher Bahadur Thapa Magar of Chandranigahapur should be credited for women soccer accomplishment in Rautahat. His dedication and effort in the field of soccer is unmatched by anyone in Nepal. Besides this martial arts like karate, khusti etc. is practiced.
Education- There are many private and public schools and colleges. Local residents do not have to go outside the town for their education. Some of the schools are colleges are Jan Jyoti Multiple Campus, Moonlight Secondary School, Bal Niketan Higher Secondary School, etc.
Occupation- As we know, Nepal is landlocked country and many people engage in agriculture. Likewise, many people here are also engaged in agriculture.Others are engaged in service, trade, etc.

Radio: To Promote local culture Chandranigahapur has one FM radio station Radio Nunthar F.M. - 102.6 MHz Which is a Community radio Station.
