Chandpur (Bengali: চাঁদপুর) is a census town under Ghola police station of Barrackpore subdivision[1] in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Chandpur had a population of 8843. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Chandpur has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 61%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Healthcare

North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[3]
