The Centre for European Affairs (CEA) was founded in September 2011 as a sister organisation of the Slovak Atlantic Commission. It is now a full member of the Central European Strategy Council. The managing Director of CEA is Andrea Ferjenčíková. The founding members of CEA are Ivan Korčok (Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the European Union), Róbert Vass (the founder of the GLOBSEC Bratislava Global Security Forum) and Rastislav Káčer, Slovakia´s ambassador to Hungary.
CEA focuses on economic, financial and political aspects of the EU integration dynamics and strategic EU policies.
The ultimate goal of the CEA is to present and support credible Slovak and Central European platforms for European policy-shaping not only in respect to the upcoming Slovak EU Presidency in 2016, but also in relation to the continuous integration process.
The Centre for European Affairs runs three key projects:
National Convention on the European Union - a platform for a nationwide discussion about the European Union, its future and Slovakia’s role in further European integration. It is organised in cooperation with the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
TATRA SUMMIT - the initiative was launched in 2013 with an ambitious goal to shape the future of Europe. The first TATRA SUMMIT took place in Bratislava in February 2013 and the second one in Brussels in January 2014 . The third TATRA SUMMIT will take place on 12–13 November 2014 in Bratislava. It will be complemented by the TATRA SUMMIT Investment Forum
QUARTETORIUM is a public debate series where representatives of four different sectors (think-tanks and the academia, governments and international institutions, businesses and the media) can meet and exchange their views on multiple aspects of the European project.
