The Central and Eastern Minnesota Socialist Party, also known as the Socialist Party of Minnesota, is a local chapter of the Socialist Party USA in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The SP-MN was founded by transposed charter members of the Denver local of the Socialist Party Colorado (SPCO) shortly after Denver was host to the Western Regional Organizing Conference for the party in 2002, as well as the National Convention for the youth affiliate of the SP-USA, the Young People's Socialist League (YPSL) in 2003. Members of the SP-MN petitioned for ballot access in the 2008 U.S. presidential election [1] to show their support of the official presidential candidates of the SP-USA. Brian Patrick Moore and Stewart Alexander were write-in candidates on the Minnesota ballot for the 2008 election.
