Central High School is a high school in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut in the United States. It was originally founded in 1876 as Bridgeport High School.[3]

About 1905

In 2003 the school held 2,217 students and 152 teachers.[5] Ethnically the students were 46% African-American, 32% Hispanic, 17% white and 4% Asian, with 1% marked as unknown.[5]

The current school building was constructed in 1963-4,[3] and was dedicated on October 25, 1964.[5] The school is under renovation scheduled to be complete in 2017. It costs roughly 70 million dollars.

For the academic school year 2009-2010, the principal of Central High School was Mr. Alejandro Ortiz. From 2010-2011, the principal was Anne Engelson, from 2011-2012, the principal was Dr. Aresta Johnson, from 2012-2013 the principal was Stephan Anderson and as of now, the principal is Eric Graf.
