CelebrityNetWorth is a website that reports the total assets and financial status of celebrities. The company was founded by CEO Brian Warner in 2008.[1] CelebrityNetWorth was featured on Comedy Central show Tosh.0 in September 2010.[2] Daniel Tosh’s mention led to a temporary crash of the site due to an influx of users.[3]
CelebrityNetWorth creates lists ranking rich individuals based upon their worth. In 2012, the company compiled a list of the 25 richest people in history, adjusted for inflation, naming King Mansa Musa of the Mali Empire at the top of the list.[4][5][6][7] That same year, it created a list of the world’s richest DJs,[8] and a survey which named Ringo Starr as the world’s richest drummer.[9]
The site has recorded the networth of celebrities including Ben Affleck,[10] Phil Robertson,[11] Emma Watson,[12] Tom Perkins,[13][14] Marissa Mayer,[15] Justin Bieber,[16] A-Rod,[17] Miley Cyrus,[18] Mick Jagger[19] and Tom Brady.[20]
