Catholic Update is a monthly newsletter. It was founded in 1972 by St. Anthony Messenger Press, a mission of the Franciscans in Cincinnati, as a parish handout to help explain the many changes then happening in the Catholic Church. It grew over the years into a publication used in about half of American Roman Catholic parishes, covering many issues of current concern to Catholics in the United States. In 2014, it was sold by the Franciscans to Liguori Publications, a mission of the Redemptorists in Liguori, Missouri.[1]
