Cascade-Chipita Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,655 at the 2010 census.[3]
Geography
Cascade-Chipita Park is located at 38°55′15″N 104°59′29″W / 38.920814°N 104.991493°W.[4]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 13.5 square miles (35 km2), of which, 13.5 square miles (35 km2) of it is land and 0.07% is water.
Demographics
As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 1,709 people, 713 households, and 479 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 126.8 people per square mile (49.0/km²). There were 869 housing units at an average density of 64.5 per square mile (24.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.91% White, 0.59% African American, 0.82% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 1.81% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.98% of the population.
There were 713 households out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.8% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 24.4% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 32.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 107.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $48,719, and the median income for a family was $58,393. Males had a median income of $35,034 versus $30,647 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $25,073. About 1.2% of families and 3.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen or sixty-five or over.
