Carzonrent India Private Limited (CIPL), better known as Carzonrent is an Urban Mobility Solutions provider. The company is headquartered in New Delhi, India. Carzonrent was founded by Rajiv Kumar Vij in 2000.[1] In 2001, Carzonrent won the exclusive franchisee rights for the American car rental firm Hertz International in India.[2]
History
Carzonrent was founded by Rajiv Kumar Vij in the year 2000 in New Delhi. The company offered chauffeur driven cars on hire, primarily to corporate clients. [3]
Hertz awarded the exclusive franchisee rights for India to Carzonrent in 2001, leasing out 50 cars to the company which were plied chauffeur driven basis. In 2005, Hertz scaled its presence to 750 cars and commenced leasing services to corporate clients. [4]
In 2006, Carzonrent launched its radio taxi service EasyCabs in the New Delhi, making it the first Indian company to offer car leasing and taxi services. With the goal of providing a one stop solution to commuters, the company commenced self-drive car rental service Myles in 2011.
Services and Products
Corporate Rentals: CIPL started offering corporate car rental services in September 2001. Currently, CIPL provides car rental services to over 600 corporate clients across its 39 cities of operations.
The company offers various options to its customers in terms of cars, rentals, choice of services etc.
CIPL also has an exclusive tie-up with Emirates airlines to provide Limousine services to its passengers in India.
Radio Taxi Services (EasyCabs) With a view to provide safe, easy and reliable transport to the masses, CIPL launched its Radio Taxi services in June 2006 under the brand name EasyCabs and is today the most sort after Radio Taxi service with a fleet of 2500 cars with operations in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, operating from airports and city locations in each of these cities.
Self-Drive Service (Myles) CIPL is the first company to start the self-drive service in India. The servicers are currently present in 20 cities with a fleet of over 1000 cars.
International: CIPL today is the only Indian car rental brand to have an association with car rental providers across the globe covering over 170 countries.
CIPL CIPL is the Only Car rental company to offer to its customers a car for as short as 20 minutes to as long as the lifecycle of the car.
CIPL is the first company to launch an online booking platform & in car credit card payment system, mobile application for making bookings, knowing the status of booked cab and the real-time tracking of the cars.
The single biggest purchases are made by CIPL - Mercedes (90 cars), Hyundai (1100 cars), Mahindra (750 cars) and Toyota (1000 cars). With its fleet of 10000+ cars CIPL does 25000 trips daily clocking 100000 km everyday to satisfy 6000000 customers annually.
CIPL acquired Ridingo. Ridingo is a Mobile and Cloud based solution provider of ride sharing was rated by “Forbes”as one of the “Hottest Startups” in 2013. A peer to peer car-pooling community has over 10,000+ registered users on the platform.
Partnerships
In June 2015, Carzonrent's radio taxi service EasyCabs associated with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide cab services to railway passengers.[5] Customers can pre-book an EasyCab while booking railway tickets on IRCTC's. The service is currently available only at the New Delhi Railway Station.
