Carolyn Anne Jakobsen (born 11 September 1947) is an Australian retired politician. Born in Auckland, New Zealand, she was an electorate secretary and ministerial officer before entering politics. In 1984, she was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for the new seat of Cowan. Her election was the second time a woman had been elected to the House from Western Australia (the first was Wendy Fatin in 1983). She held Cowan until her defeat in 1993.[1]
