Caroline Armington
Caroline Helena Armington (1875-1939) was an artist, Canadian born and raised, living most of her adult life in France. Towards the end of her life moved to New York City, USA with her husband, Frank Armington.
She worked in a number of mediums but is best known for her large body (551) of etchings.
Chronology
- September 11, 1875 born Caroline Helena Wilkinson in Brampton, Ontario, Canada
- 1892 through 1899 took art studies under J. W. L Forster [1]
- 1899 went to New York working as a nurse [1]
- 1900 sailed to Europe [2]
- 1900 married Frank Armington [2]
- 1900-01 moved back to Canada
- 1905-1910 the couple returned to study in Paris [3]
- 1914-1918 the couple assisted the American Ambulance Hospital in Paris - Caroline worked as a nurse and Frank as an orderly.[4]
- 1939 left Paris and moved to New York, New York, United States.[5]
- October 25, 1939 died in New York, New York, United States.
