Carlo Schmid (Swiss pilot)

Stops of Carlo Schmid's flight

Carlo Schmid is a Swiss pilot.[1]

In 2012, he broke the record of Barrington Irving as the youngest solo pilot to fly around the world.[1] The 110 hour[1] flight of his Cessna 210[1] lasted 80 days from July 11 to September 29, 2012. The flight concluded with a landing at "Dubendorf military airport, accompanied by a PC7 squadron of nine aeroplanes from the Swiss Army."[1][lower-alpha 1]

Notes

  1. Although the article identifies the planes as being part of the Swiss Army, they actually belong to the Swiss Air Force.
