Cape Cod Academy (commonly called CCA) is an independent coed college preparatory school for grades pre-kindergarten through 12.

Mission Statement

"The pursuit of academic excellence and development of life skills in a safe, values-centered community."[1]

Statistics

The Academy was incorporated in 1976 and functions on a school preparatory curriculum. The approximate number of students enrolled in the school is 240 with a 50:50 girl to boy ratio and a 7:1 student to teacher ratio. The school is a member of several associations: the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE), and additionally has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). All graduates from the Academy are accepted in college, and many accepted into very competitive colleges. [2]

Tuition Fees

Pre-kindergarten tuition and tees: $11,095 Kindergarten-Grade 5 tuition and fees: $22,400 Grades 6-8 tuition and fees: $25,625 Grades 9-12 tuition and fees: $26,700

During school private tutoring fees are offered for the price of $45.00 per session (40 minutes).

Payment Plan Options

There are three payment plan options to assist families in paying the Academy's tuition and fees. Full payment plan: the entire balance owed must be paid by July 1st. Two-payment plan: 75% of the balance must be paid by July 1st and the remainder of the balance to be paid by December 15th. Monthly payment plan: consists of a payment plan over 10 months beginning in May and to be completed by February.[3]

Academics

Lower School

The lower school (grades preK-5) is located in a separate wing of the school containing its own classrooms, library, indoor gymnasium, and science classroom. Lower school classrooms are self-contained with their own bathrooms, sinks, refrigerators, and cubby spaces. In addition the lower school has its own separate outdoor playground and playing fields. All students in the Lower School begin taking Spanish in pre-K and continue through Grade 8. In Upper School students may choose between French, Spanish, Latin or other languages that are offered through independent studies.

Middle School

Middle school consists of grades 6 through 8. Students begin having individual schedules, moving independently between English, History, Math, Science, and Latin (the required foreign language for grades 7 and 8).

Upper School

In grades 9-12, students choose between regular, honors, and Advance Placement level courses and picking between French or Spanish. Seminars are available for the middle and upper school curriculum. Seminars run for one trimester and options include equine science, fashion design, beginning German, computer programming and project adventure.

Chewonki

Seventh grade students spend a week in Chewonki, Maine each Fall camping and participating in an intensive week of team building activities.

Arts

Students in pre-K through 12 are exposed to a variety of artistic experiences. Plays, musicals, instrumental music, chorus, painting and drawing, ceramics, and sculpture are only a few of the offerings at CCA.

Athletics

Cape Cod Academy has three outdoor playing fields and an outdoor baseball field, two indoor basketball courts and an indoor weight room. Recent highlights have included girls' varsity basketball making it into the MIAA playoffs for the first time, since joining the league, during the 2012-2013 season. Boys' varsity basketball made it to the MIAA playoffs, going undefeated in the Cape and Islands League. The sailing team, in only its second year as a varsity sport, came in second place at the ISSA National Championship in Chicago and continued on to compete for the ISSA Baker Trophy in Tampa, Florida.
