Campbellians Hockey Club
Campbellians Hockey Club was founded in 2006 and is a section of the Old Campbellian Society, Campbell College, Belmont, Belfast. It was admitted to the Ulster Senior League Section 2 for the start of the 2006-07 season. In 2010-11 season, the 1ST XI won promotion to Section 1.
The club plays home games on the new artificial surface laid at Campbell College in 2006. At Halloween 2006, the Irish Schools Tournament was held on these new pitches.
Originally, club membership was open to former pupils of the College, current pupils, and the parents or relatives of both. In 2010/11 the club changed its policy and is now open to all players.
In 2008, a 2nd XI was formed. Since then they have gained promotion in all of their four seasons. The 2nd XI now play in Ulster Hockey Junior League 3.
In 2009, the 1st XI won the inaugural Irish Challenge Cup beating Mullingar 2-0 at the final in UCD, providing national success for such a young club.
At the start of the 2012/13 league season a newly formed 3rd XI will take its place Ulster Hockey Junior League 6.
Having started with just 18 in 2006, the Campbellians Hockey Club now has over 60 members.
The club colours are green-black-black, with a white change strip.
