CKNI-FM (2005-2014)

On November 26, 2004, Rogers Media received CRTC approval to operate a new English-language commercial FM News/Talk radio station at 91.9 FM in Moncton, New Brunswick. [1] News 91.9's first broadcast was on October 11, 2005 with studios located on Assomption Boulevard in downtown Moncton. CKNI was networked with sister stations CHNI-FM (which had been sold to Newcap Radio and became known as Rock 88.9) in Saint John and CJNI-FM (News 95.7) in Halifax. Broadcasts included the national award-winning morning news/talk show The Morning News with Allan Dearing and Tara Clow from 6 to 10am weekdays. CKNI-FM also broadcast Moncton Wildcats, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Blue Jays games on nights when those teams are playing.

On March 31, 2014, CKNI-FM was sold to Acadia Broadcasting from Rogers Media, the acqusition which was approved by the CRTC was planning to allow that station to switch from a News/talk format to a music format.

On August 8, 2014, CKNI-FM flipped to AC branded as 91.9 the Bend.
