Bungō Stray Dogs (文豪ストレイドッグス Bungō Sutorei Doggusu, lit. Literary Stray Dogs) is a Japanese manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, which has been serialized in the magazine Young Ace since 2012. The series will receive an anime television series adaptation in April 2016.
Plot
The story of Bungō Stray Dogs centers around real-life authors who now have supernatural powers, and use them to solve mysteries in the "Armed Detective Agency". Real-life figures to have been featured in the series include Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Yukito Ayatsuji, Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, Osamu Dazai, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Rampo Edogawa, Natsuhiko Kyogoku, Kenji Miyazawa, Doppo Kunikida, and Akiko Yosano.[1][2]

Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa began publishing the manga in Kadokawa Shoten's seinen magazine Young Ace in 2012.[1] Kadokawa has compiled the series into nine tankōbon volumes.

Anime
An anime adaptation from animation studio Bones will be directed by Takuya Igarashi and written by Yōji Enokido.[1] Nobuhiro Arai and Hiroshi Kanno serve as the chief animation directors, while the former also serves as character designer along with Ryō Hirata. Taku Iwasaki composes the series' music. Kazuhiro Wakabayashi is the series' sound director at Glovision. Additionally, Yumiko Kondou is the art director, Yukari Goto is the anime's color designer, Tsuyoshi Kanbayashi is the director of photography, and Shigeru Nishiyama is the editor.[15] The series will premiere in April 2016.[16] Granrodeo will perform the anime's opening theme[17] and Luck Life will perform the anime's ending theme, titled "Namae o Yobu yo".[18] The anime will broadcast on Tokyo MX, TVS, CTC, tvk, GBS (Gifu Broadcasting), Mie TV, SUN, TVQ Kyushu and BS11.[19]
