Vegetation and ecosystem

The brumadense fauna is composed mainly of animals adapted to the savanna vegetation that is characteristic of the region, but the municipality has little islands of forest, small localized often called riparian, margins of rivers and streams in the region. In the biodiversity, some animals end up most often with their natural habitat threatened by miners, ranchers and hunters, who seek territorial expansion, exploitation of natural resources and also the illegal trade in animals, thereby eventually causing a rampant predatory activity and without any control with respect the ecological imbalance that this action may cause. To add insult to injury, an attitude is not making any allowance for this activity, leaving some of those sectors of local biodiversity threatened with extinction, thus damaging the ecological balance of the region.

The city has a characteristic vegetation of scrub, riparian forest (vegetation typical of small tropical forest situated on the banks of rivers and streams of the region) and also isolated parts of dense forest called "general" in regions high in the city mainly from Sierra of mares. It is noteworthy that the plant species present in the region covering several groups and you can find copies of any size.

There are problems: the indiscriminate deforestation for charcoal production 3273 meters cubic, used for trade and to meet the pole ceramist, and clearing forests and vegetation for the livestock and to open mines triggered by some mining sites, but it is noteworthy that there are those who perform the appropriate reforestation aiming not reach the sources present in the mountains.[3]
